Log Saw RetrofitAMS offers upgrades to Standard and Servo Log Saws for tissue and household towel products.

Features of a Servo-Controlled Log Saw Upgrade

  • Variable cut length capabilities from 3.5” – 11” without modification of the mechanical orbit head wedge blocks or grindstones
  • Cut length is set via selection on the Operator Interface (HMI)
  • Trim ring balancing is automatic for new recipes and can be adjusted to avoid glue rings
  • Systems are equipped with a Cat III Safety System including locking guard door switches and blade zero speed monitoring
  • Recipe storage and retrieval capability at the HMI simplifies storage of setup data associated with each product configuration
  • Cut speeds of 300+ cpm for BRT products and 125+ cpm for up to 11” HHT products with both blades remaining in operation. This technology can be extended to other log saws for variable cut length of folded towel products.
  • Third lane addition option to achieve throughput increase of up to 50%
  • Complete Rockwell Automation Servo Solution with Kinetix 6000 servo drives and ControlLogix PLC
