Applied Motion Systems is a world leading manufacturer of Factory Automation Equipment and Control Systems for a broad range of industries. We have an experienced team of skilled Systems Engineers with expertise in Automation Systems, Motion Control, and Coordinated Drive System design and programming. These systems use state of the art industrial PLCs, HMIs and Vision systems with integrated safety.

We are recruiting for several positions at present and are considering recent graduates with an engineering degree and demonstrated competence in programming and control system design. This competency can be demonstrated through course work, research, and/or personal projects. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent grasp of engineering fundamentals, willingness to work in a team environment and a passion to apply this knowledge to the development of automated industrial machines.

Responsibilities include:

  • AMS Systems Engineers design Factory Automation and Coordinated Drive Systems including hardware integration and programming using off the shelf industrial automation hardware and drives.
  • Work with Electrical Engineers to develop multi-sheet schematic packages using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers to optimize system performance and machine process state sequencing to provide intuitive machine controls.
  • Provide training to users in the operation and diagnostics of the systems you developed.

AMS is a Certified Solution Partner for Siemens using Simatic PLCs and HMIs in addition to Simotion Motion Controllers and Sinumerik CNCs. AMS is also an Automation System Integrator of Rockwell products with expertise with Logix PLCs, CIP Motion and Kinetix / PowerFlex 755 Drives with Integrated Safety.

This position will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience and develop competence with Siemens and Rockwell automation products, along with various other manufacturers of industrial drives, controllers, vision systems and robotics. Previous experience with different automation development environments is beneficial.
