Systems Engineer

We are looking for a creative and motivated Systems Engineer with demonstrated experience of 5 to 10 years related to Motion Control, Coordinated Drive Systems, and Machine Automation. The successful candidate will thrive on electro-mechanical system design employing new technology, components and design tools. AMS prefers candidates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering but will consider significant experience in electro-mechanical systems consisting Motion Controllers and AC Drives, Mechanical Actuators sensors and safety systems.

Required skills include:

A demonstrated proficiency with programming motion controllers for use in industrial machine applications, along with a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering practices. Specific experience with Siemens, Rockwell, and/or Delta Tau controllers is a plus. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic with a natural ability to solve problems, excellent customer interface skills, and a knack for understanding machine and manufacturing processes. You should be familiar with various manufacturing processes and embrace collaboration with other engineers and shop floor staff. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities include:

You will work with designers to develop automation, motion control and drive system hardware and software solutions employing motion controllers, PLCs, HMIs, safety systems, and AC servo/AC vector drives. You will develop and deploy software for machine control including motion scripting languages, HMI development, and PLC ladder logic. Some travel to customer sites is required for project reviews and commissioning and startup of new systems.
